Our Programs

Housing First

The Housing First (Reaching Home Covid-19 Emergency Response) program is run by a registered social worker who provides intensive case management and support to marginalized individuals with mental health and addiction issues who are chronically homeless or at risk for homelessness.

Community Shelter

Our dedicated team works hard to offer Merritt’s Community Shelter. With the help of BC Housing and Interior Health the shelter is playing an important role in Merritt’s planned response to the COVID-19 pandemic for those without housing.

Services include daily meals, beds, storage lockers and more.

Never Alone with Addictions

This is a partnership with the NVSSS, the Community Action Initiative and the City of Merritt to help address the gap in services including after hours and on weekends.

Endeavour to be Better

This program initially focused solely on peer connection and is now offering additional opportunities including some work experience, recreational activities, food support, and community cleanup.

If you or someone you know is experiencing challenges involving mental health or substance use and would benefit from connecting with our team we encourage you to reach out.  We can provide resources and support to help individuals develop the skills necessary to build a stronger future.

If you require any information please contact us through this website.

Community COVID Response

In partnership with the City of Merritt, BC Housing, Interior Health and Ask Wellness the Nicola Valley Shelter and Support Society is working hard to help provide support for the most vulnerable in our community during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
