Housing First

The Housing First (Reaching Home COVID-19 Emergency Response) program is run by a registered social worker who provides intensive case management and support to marginalized individuals with mental health and addiction issues who are chronically homeless or at risk for homelessness. We currently also support those facing additional challenges - including helping with supplies or covering a portion of some costs associated to isolation or additional cleaning - as part of the Reaching Home COVID-19 Emergency Response.

This program offers one-to-one individualized meetings to work on goals and to make referrals to other agencies if needed. Supports such as food, toiletries and cleaning supplies may be provided to clients.

When individuals achieve some success with their goals, they may be offered an opportunity to move onto the Peer Mentorship program with the continued support of the social worker.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada's Reaching Home:  Canada’s Homelessness Strategy.

We would also like to acknowledge Interior Savings, Teck Highland Valley Copper and local donors for supporting this program.
