Community COVID-19 Response
In partnership with the City of Merritt, BC Housing, Interior Health, and Ask Wellness the Nicola Valley Shelter and Support Society is working hard to help provide support for the most vulnerable in our community.
As a part of this response:
- we have continued to offer shelter services within the community,
- we relocated the community shelter to a large facility where we can ensure a better degree of social distancing as well as isolation, if that become necessary
- we are offering a personal Hygiene Program for those who do not have access to personal cleaning facilities within a home
- staff are available to offer personalized services to those experiencing additional hardship as a result of the current pandemic including extra food support, supplies, communication, and other supports.
